The Lucent 6408Plus is an 8-line digital business desk telephone designed for use with Lucent Technologies (later Avaya) Definity and PARTNER-series PBX systems. It features a full 12-key numeric dial pad, 8 programmable line/feature keys along the right side, a large label window for line identification, and dedicated function buttons including Transfer, Hold, Conference, and a message waiting indicator. The handset connects via a standard coiled cord.

Applications
The Lucent 6408Plus was part of the 6400-series digital telephone line developed by Lucent Technologies in the mid-to-late 1990s for use with Lucent Definity and PARTNER PBX telephone systems — the same product line that became the Avaya 6408D+ when Avaya was spun off from Lucent in 2000. These phones were widely deployed in corporate offices, call centers, and hotel front desks requiring multi-line capability and feature access through a PBX. The 6408-series specifically offered 8 programmable line appearances, making it a mid-tier workhorse for users who needed to monitor and pick up multiple lines at a single station. Today, 6400-series sets are commonly used as replacements or spares in legacy Definity and early Avaya Communication Manager environments that are still in service, as well as by collectors of late-1990s office telephony equipment.
This Lucent 6408Plus business desk telephone has been inspected and is in good used condition. The phone shows normal wear consistent with office use, including light scuffing on the housing. The handset and coiled cord are included and appear intact. The bottom label is clear and legible, confirming the model and manufacture date.
