Made in China and FCC-certified, this mouse features the traditional beige form factor of the late 1980s and early 1990s computing era, with a contoured housing, three distinct buttons, and a fixed attached serial cable terminating in a female DB9 connector.

Applications

The RS-232 serial mouse was the standard pointing device for IBM PC-compatible computers through much of the late 1980s and into the mid-1990s, before PS/2 and USB interfaces displaced it. The 9-pin DB9 serial connector plugged directly into the COM1 or COM2 port on PC/XT/AT and later 486- and early Pentium-class machines, and was compatible with DOS, Windows 3.x, Windows 95, and Windows 98. Logitech's serial mice were widely used in professional and office environments and were recognized for their reliable mechanical ball tracking and sturdy build. Today, these serial mice are sought by vintage computer enthusiasts restoring period-correct DOS gaming rigs, early Windows workstations, IBM PS/2 systems, and similar retro hardware — and are also useful for any operator still running legacy industrial or scientific equipment with an RS-232 COM port.

Condition: Used
This Logitech M-M35 3-Button Serial Mouse has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. The beige housing shows normal yellowing and light surface wear consistent with age — the bottom label (visible in photos) is intact and fully legible. The attached serial cable is in good shape and the DB9 female connector shows no bent or missing pins. The unit was pulled from a working environment where it was previously in use.
