Applications
The Apple Desktop Bus (ADB) was Apple's proprietary low-speed serial bus for connecting input devices — keyboards, mice, trackballs, and graphics tablets — to Macintosh computers. Introduced with the Apple IIGS in 1986 and carried through the Mac lineup from the Macintosh II era into the late 1990s, ADB was standard on machines including the Mac Plus (via adapter), Macintosh SE, Mac II series, Quadra, Centris, Performa, Power Macintosh, and early iMac G3 models. Apple phased ADB out in favor of USB beginning with the original iMac in 1998. The Logitech MouseMan ADB was a popular third-party upgrade for users who wanted a multi-button mouse on their classic Mac, since Apple's own mice of this era were strictly one-button. Today these mice are used by vintage Mac collectors and enthusiasts maintaining working ADB-era Macintosh systems.
This Logitech MouseMan ADB M-AC13-4MD 3-button Apple Desktop Bus mouse is in good used condition. The body and cable appear clean with light age-related yellowing typical of vintage beige peripherals. The ADB connector is intact and free of visible damage.
