Power, Collision, and Status LEDs on the front panel give an at-a-glance view of network activity.

Applications
The EW5HUB is a 10BaseT Ethernet hub from the mid-to-late 1990s, a period when 10 Mbps shared Ethernet was the standard for small office and home networking before 100BaseT (Fast Ethernet) and switches became mainstream. Unlike a switch, a hub broadcasts all traffic to every connected port, making the available 10 Mbps bandwidth shared among all nodes — a characteristic of the hub architecture of that era. Units like the EW5HUB were commonly used to connect small groups of PCs, printers, and servers in SOHO environments. Today they see use in legacy network setups, retro computing projects, and environments running older 10BaseT-only NICs or equipment that requires true hub behavior (such as network monitoring and packet sniffing scenarios where promiscuous-mode capture of all traffic on the segment is needed).
This Linksys EW5HUB 5-Port 10BaseT Ethernet Workgroup Hub has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. It was pulled from a working environment where it was previously in use. The unit shows light cosmetic wear typical of used networking gear; the plastic housing is intact with no cracks. The external AC power adapter is included, as shown in the photos.
