Applications
The BEFW11S4 was designed for small home and small-office networks in the early 2000s, providing shared broadband internet access over both wired and wireless connections from a single DSL or cable modem. The 802.11b standard operates at up to 11 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band and was the dominant consumer Wi-Fi standard of its era before 802.11g and later 802.11n superseded it. Today, units like this are primarily sought for legacy network setups, retro computing environments, period-accurate home-lab builds, and compatibility testing with older 802.11b-only client devices such as early laptops, handheld PDAs, and vintage game consoles that do not support newer Wi-Fi standards. The integrated 4-port switch eliminates the need for a separate hub on small wired networks.
This Linksys BEFW11S4 ver. 4 Wireless-B Broadband Router has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. It was pulled from a working environment where it was previously in use. The unit shows normal cosmetic wear consistent with prior use. The power adapter is included as shown in the photos. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
