Description
Lindberg 51442 Box Furnace 1200°C 240V 4880W 50/60Hz 14x7x5 in Chamber
The Lindberg 51442 is a benchtop/floor-standing electric box furnace capable of reaching a maximum temperature of 1200°C. It operates on 240V single-phase power at 4880 watts and is rated for both 50 and 60 Hz supply. The furnace body is enclosed in a rugged blue and gray steel housing. A thermocouple lead (yellow Type K connector) exits the top rear of the unit. No temperature controller is included — this furnace requires a separate external controller to operate.

Applications
Lindberg box furnaces of this type are standard laboratory and industrial equipment used for heat treating, annealing, sintering, calcination, ceramic firing, and materials research at high temperatures up to 1200°C. The 51442 is a mid-size benchtop/floor unit well suited to research laboratories, university materials science departments, semiconductor process development, metallurgy labs, and quality-control testing environments. Lindberg (later Lindberg/MPH) has been a recognized manufacturer of laboratory and industrial furnaces for decades, and the 51442 series was widely used in R&D and production settings from the 1970s through the 1990s. Units of this class require a compatible external temperature controller and programmer to set and regulate the thermal profile — buyers should confirm controller compatibility before purchase. The corrugated ceramic fiber or refractory brick chamber construction is designed to withstand repeated thermal cycling at maximum rated temperatures.
This Lindberg 51442 box furnace has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. It has not been powered up or tested at our facility, but it was pulled from a working laboratory environment where it was previously in use. The exterior housing shows normal handling wear consistent with lab use — the blue sheet-metal panels are intact with no major dents or damage. The interior refractory chamber appears complete and in reasonable shape, with some residue on the floor consistent with use at high temperatures. The thermocouple leads are included. No temperature controller is included with this unit. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
