The LG EnerBox 2 is a solar production monitoring gateway designed for use with LG's NeON R ACe integrated microinverter solar panel systems. It communicates with individual ACe panel microinverters over Broadband Power Line Communication (IEEE 1901), aggregates production data from up to 600 modules, and connects the system to the LG EnerVu online monitoring portal via wired Ethernet or Wi-Fi. One EnerBox 2 is required per system, and LG includes a 5-year manufacturer warranty from the date of installation.

Applications

The LG EnerBox 2 is the central communication hub for residential and small commercial solar installations built around LG's NeON R ACe microinverter panel line. Because LG's ACe panels integrate the microinverter directly into the panel frame rather than using a separate inverter box, the EnerBox 2 communicates with each panel using power line communication over the existing AC wiring — no separate data cabling is needed between panels. The gateway then connects to the LG EnerVu cloud portal, allowing homeowners and installers to monitor per-panel and whole-system energy production in near real time. It also supports ZigBee communication with compatible smart meters for additional consumption monitoring. The EnerBox 2 should be connected to a dedicated outlet and installed near the electrical distribution panel for best signal quality; the unit supports up to 600 ACe nodes, covering large residential arrays and small commercial rooftop systems. The LG ACe microinverter ecosystem was introduced in the mid-2010s as LG expanded beyond conventional string-inverter solar into module-level power electronics (MLPE).
