The M. Latter Model 16 is a benchtop shrink wrap heat sealer built for packaging applications. It features a 16-inch heating element mounted on a hinged pivot arm that presses down onto the sealing platform to cut and seal polyolefin or PVC shrink film. M. Latter MFG. Inc. was a Los Angeles-based manufacturer of commercial packaging equipment, and the Model 16 was designed for light-to-medium production sealing tasks.

Applications
Benchtop shrink wrap heat sealers like the M. Latter Model 16 are used in retail, distribution, and light manufacturing environments to package products in shrink film. The operator places the item on a sheet of shrink wrap, lowers the heated sealing arm to cut and seal the film around the product, then passes the wrapped item through a heat tunnel (sold separately) to shrink the film tight. These machines are commonly used for packaging gift items, food products, software boxes, DVDs, books, and industrial parts. The Model 16's 16-inch sealing bar accommodates a range of small-to-medium product sizes. M. Latter packaged this class of equipment for small commercial operations and print/fulfillment shops.
This M. Latter Model 16 Shrink Wrap Heat Sealer was pulled from a working environment where it was previously in use. The control box shows surface scuffs and scratches on the casing, and the aluminum frame has visible surface rust, particularly at the corners and along the frame rails — consistent with age and typical shop use. The sealing arm pivots freely and the unit includes an aluminum film roller tube (Reynolds Aluminum, 1" OD, 8 ft). The power cord is intact. It has not been powered up or tested at our facility.
