Description
Lambda Electronics LP-412A-FM Regulated DC Power Supply 0-40V 1A Benchtop
The Lambda Electronics LP-412A-FM is a variable regulated DC benchtop power supply with a continuous output range of 0 to 40 volts and a maximum current rating of 1.0A at 30°C. The front panel features two large analog panel meters — one for DC volts and one for DC amperes — along with a large Output Voltage control knob, a Current Limiter knob, and a toggle ON/OFF switch. Output is delivered via color-coded banana binding posts. Lambda Electronics Corp (a Veeco subsidiary) produced these compact single-output regulated supplies primarily for laboratory bench use and electronics testing applications during the 1960s through 1980s.

Applications
The Lambda LP series regulated DC power supplies were widely used as general-purpose laboratory bench supplies for electronics development, component testing, and research applications. The 0–40V variable output range made them suitable for powering circuits requiring higher voltages than the more common 0–30V class supplies, and the built-in current limiter allowed safe testing of sensitive components by setting a maximum current threshold. Lambda Electronics was a well-regarded manufacturer of linear regulated power supplies throughout the 1960s, 1970s, and into the 1980s — a period when linear bench supplies were standard equipment in university labs, defense electronics shops, and R&D facilities. These units are still sought by technicians and hobbyists who prefer the straightforward analog metering and sturdy build quality of vintage linear supplies over modern switching-mode designs.
This Lambda Electronics LP-412A-FM Regulated DC Power Supply is being sold as-is for parts or repair. It is not confirmed to be in working order and is not guaranteed functional. The unit shows typical wear consistent with lab use — the cabinet has some scuffing and mild surface marks, and the front panel knobs, meters, and binding posts appear intact. The AC power cord is included and visible in photos. No testing has been performed. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
