Applications
The Luminoskan EL series was used in clinical laboratories, pharmaceutical research, and biotech facilities for high-throughput luminescence assays including reporter gene assays, ATP-based cell viability testing, and immunoassays. Compatible with standard 96-well plate formats and integrated into automated lab workflows via RS-232 and parallel interfaces common to 1990s-2000s laboratory equipment ecosystems.

This Labsystems Luminoskan EL Type 391A microplate reader powers on and the display lights up, but we are not able to fully test its measurement functions at our facility, so it is being sold as-is. The unit is in used cosmetic condition with some general surface wear and a handwritten note on the front access door. The interior sample compartment and carriage mechanism appear intact. The rear panel shows the Centronics parallel and two RS-232 C serial ports, and a power cable is included. The voltage selector on the rear is set to 120V.
