Applications

The Kodak Carousel projector system was introduced in 1961 and became the dominant 35mm slide projector platform in the United States through the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, used widely in education, corporate presentations, and photography. The Projection Ektanar lens line was Kodak's standard projection optics for the Carousel series, offered in a range of focal lengths to suit different room sizes and throw distances. A 4 inch lens is a medium-to-long throw option well suited to larger rooms where the projector is positioned farther from the screen. Carousel projectors and their accessories continue to be used by photographers, collectors, and institutions with legacy slide archives. Replacement Ektanar lenses are actively sought by Carousel owners whose original optics have developed haze or fungus over time.
