Kodak Ektanon 7 Inch f/3.5 Projection Lens Carousel Projector 35mm Slide AV

The Kodak Ektanon is a multi-element projection lens designed for use with Kodak Carousel and Ektagraphic slide projectors. The 7-inch (178mm) focal length and f/3.5 maximum aperture make it a telephoto option for the Carousel system, used when projecting from a greater distance or when a larger projected image is needed from a fixed throw. This particular example is being sold AS-IS for parts or repair and is not guaranteed functional.

Applications

Kodak Carousel and Ektagraphic projectors were the dominant 35mm slide projectors used in education, business, and professional presentation settings from the 1960s through the 1990s. The Ektanon lens family covers a range of focal lengths — from wide-angle for short-throw setups to telephoto options like this 7-inch lens for longer projection distances or auditorium use. Longer focal-length Carousel lenses like this one are sought by collectors, vintage AV enthusiasts, and anyone maintaining or restoring Kodak Carousel projector systems. They are also occasionally harvested for their high-quality optical elements for use in DIY optical projects.
