When the detection zone is broken, the OSSD outputs switch to a safe state, triggering a machine stop. The Type 4 / SIL3 safety classification makes the SL-V14L suitable for high-risk applications where a single fault must not lead to loss of the safety function, in compliance with ISO 13849 and IEC 62061 safety standards. The SL-V series was introduced by Keyence as an all-in-one design with a built-in controller, eliminating the need for a separate safety controller or relay module in many configurations.
