Description
Kensington Technology KTH-1000 HP LaserJet Series II IID 1MB Memory Module
The Kensington Technology KTH-1000 is a 1MB memory upgrade module designed specifically for the HP LaserJet Series II and IID laser printers. Adding memory to these printers allowed them to handle more complex print jobs, larger page buffers, and additional downloaded fonts — a common upgrade need for offices that pushed these printers beyond basic text output.

Applications
The HP LaserJet Series II was introduced in 1987 and became one of the most widely deployed laser printers of the late 1980s and early 1990s in corporate office environments. At its base configuration, the Series II shipped with 512KB of RAM, which could be insufficient for complex graphics, large downloaded font sets, or full-page image printing. Third-party memory modules like the Kensington KTH-1000 were sold alongside HP's own memory options to upgrade these printers to 1.5MB or beyond, enabling smoother handling of PostScript jobs and dense document layouts. The LaserJet IID was a duplex-capable variant of the same platform. Today, these modules are sought by collectors and by organizations still maintaining vintage HP LaserJet hardware in legacy print environments.
This Kensington Technology KTH-1000 HP LaserJet Series II / IID 1MB memory upgrade module has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. The PCB is clean with no visible damage, broken traces, or missing components. The gold-plated card edge connector looks good, and the blue retaining clips are intact on both sides. The RAM chips (KM41256AP-12) are all present and seated. Normal light handling wear is present but nothing of concern. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
