Description
ISR Spraycool Liquid Cooling Test Chamber 22x21x30 w/ Fluke Hydra DAQ Unit
The ISR (Isothermal Systems Research) Spraycool is a self-contained two-phase liquid spray cooling test chamber designed for thermal testing of electronic components and assemblies. The system directs a controlled spray of dielectric fluid (such as 3M Fluorinert FC-72) onto a device under test mounted inside the insulated chamber, removing heat via phase-change evaporation — a method capable of far higher heat flux removal than conventional air or single-phase liquid cooling. An integrated Fluke Hydra Data Acquisition Unit logs temperature, pressure, and pump data across 14 labeled input channels in real time, making this a complete, self-contained thermal test station.

Applications
ISR's Spraycool technology was developed in the 1990s to address the thermal management demands of high-density electronic assemblies — particularly in military, aerospace, and advanced computing applications where air cooling could not keep pace with heat flux. Two-phase spray cooling works by atomizing a dielectric fluid directly onto heat-generating components; the fluid absorbs heat as it evaporates, then is recirculated. ISR was a pioneer in this technology and their Spraycool systems were used in research institutions, defense electronics labs, and advanced thermal engineering programs. A complete test chamber like this one — with integrated data acquisition logging temperature at multiple thermocouple points alongside nozzle and chamber pressure — is used to characterize the thermal performance of electronic components, circuit boards, and assemblies under controlled spray cooling conditions. Today these systems remain relevant for power electronics thermal research, advanced cooling feasibility studies, and legacy program support where original Spraycool infrastructure is already in place.
This ISR (Isothermal Systems Research) Spraycool Liquid Cooling Test Chamber has been inspected and is in good condition. The cabinet exterior shows normal wear consistent with lab use. The integrated Fluke Hydra Data Acquisition Unit is present and installed. Internally, the spray module, fluid tubing, pump, and wiring all appear intact and complete. The unit comes with a pump, lengths of tubing, an FC Oil bottle, nozzle fittings, spare connector parts, and a set of documentation including Fluke Hydra manuals and the Hydra Logger software manual.
