Description
Intel Celeron SL3PZ 533MHz Socket 370 PPGA CPU Processor 128KB L2 66MHz Bus
The Intel Celeron SL3PZ is a 533MHz desktop processor built on the Mendocino core, designed for Socket 370 (PPGA) motherboards. It runs a 66MHz front-side bus with an 8x clock multiplier and integrates 128KB of full-speed on-die L2 cache — the key feature that distinguished Mendocino-core Celerons from their earlier Covington predecessors. Core voltage is 2.0V. The S-spec SL3PZ identifies the B0 stepping of this specific production revision.

Applications
The Celeron Mendocino-core processors were Intel's budget desktop line from 1998–1999, and the 533MHz SL3PZ sits near the top of that generation. They targeted entry-level and mid-range Socket 370 desktop systems and were widely used in office PCs, home builds, and budget workstations of the era. The Socket 370 PPGA interface is compatible with motherboards using Intel's 440BX, 440ZX, 440EX, and 810 chipsets. Mendocino Celerons were popular for system builds and upgrades at the time because the 128KB on-die L2 cache gave them noticeably better real-world performance than the cacheless Covington Celerons they replaced. Today these processors are sought after by vintage PC hobbyists, retro computing enthusiasts, and those maintaining late-1990s Socket 370 systems.
This Intel Celeron SL3PZ 533MHz Socket 370 processor has been tested at our facility and is in good working condition. The die label on top is clean and fully legible, showing the FV524RX533 / SL3PZ markings and a 1998 Malaysia date code. The bottom contact pads are intact with no bent or missing pins. Old thermal compound residue is visible on the integrated heat spreader — normal for a pulled CPU — and can be cleaned off before installation. This is a CPU only; no heatsink, fan, or cooler is included. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
