Applications
The AL440LX was Intel's own desktop board for the Slot 1 Pentium II platform, introduced in 1997 alongside the 440LX chipset. It targeted mainstream desktop PCs and entry-level workstations during the period when the Pentium II (233–450 MHz) was Intel's primary desktop processor. The 440LX chipset introduced AGP graphics support and 66 MHz front-side bus operation to the Pentium II platform, replacing the older 440FX. Today these boards are sought by vintage PC enthusiasts, collectors, and anyone maintaining late-1990s Pentium II systems or building period-correct retro PCs. The combination of ISA and PCI slots makes it particularly compatible with the broad range of legacy expansion cards from that era.
