Applications

This car adapter was designed for IBM ThinkPad users who needed to power or charge their laptop while traveling in a vehicle — a common need for field technicians, mobile professionals, and frequent travelers during the mid-to-late 1990s ThinkPad era. The 380 and 760 series ThinkPads were IBM's mainstream and performance portable lines of the mid-1990s, and vehicle power adapters like this one extended their usability on the road. Today, these adapters are sought by collectors and users maintaining legacy ThinkPad systems, as the proprietary multi-pin DC connectors are specific to the era and not interchangeable with later IBM or Lenovo models. Always verify the DC connector pin-out against your specific ThinkPad model before use.
