Applications
This drive is from the early-to-mid 1990s era of IBM ThinkPad laptops, when 2.5-inch IDE hard drives in the 100–500MB range were standard storage for portable computers. The 44-pin IDE interface was the universal laptop hard drive standard of that period, used across IBM ThinkPad 300, 500, 700, and related series as well as many other manufacturers' notebooks of the era. Today these drives are primarily sought by collectors and technicians restoring or maintaining vintage ThinkPad laptops and other 1990s-era portable computers that require a small-capacity IDE drive to function correctly with their original BIOS and operating system.
