Applications
The ThinkPad SelectaDock III was IBM's top-tier docking solution for its late-1990s ThinkPad line — compatible with the ThinkPad 600 and 770 series among others. It gives a docked ThinkPad access to a full set of legacy desktop peripherals: serial and parallel devices, USB peripherals, and internal drive bays for a floppy and an optical drive. In its era, this type of full docking station was the standard way enterprise users moved between a mobile and a desktop setup without unplugging and re-plugging individual peripherals. The SelectaDock III's universal power supply (100–240V) made it suitable for international use. These docks are still sought after by collectors and by organizations maintaining legacy IBM ThinkPad workloads from the late 1990s.
