Applications
The HP ColorPro (HP 7440A) was a popular color pen plotter introduced by Hewlett-Packard in the early 1980s for use with HP desktop computers and technical workstations. Pen plotters like the ColorPro were the standard output device for CAD drawings, engineering schematics, presentation graphics, and scientific charts throughout the 1980s before large-format inkjet printers took over in the early 1990s. The 92177W organizer was designed to sit beneath or alongside the plotter, keeping the set of interchangeable fiber-tip and ballpoint nibs sorted by type and color so operators could quickly swap pens mid-plot. Today these organizers are sought by collectors and by institutions still maintaining vintage HP plotter equipment for legacy or archival purposes.
This HP 92177W ColorPro / 7440A Plotter Organizer is in good used condition with some light scratches and scuffs on the acrylic plastic surfaces, consistent with normal handling and age. The foam-lined interior is intact, and the unit includes 2 nib holder carousels and 18 multicolored pen nibs as noted — please be aware that the nibs are sold as-is and are not warranted. The manufacture date label reads 08/89. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
