Applications
The HP DeskJet 656 series was a popular line of consumer and small-office color inkjet printers from the early 2000s, offering both USB and legacy parallel port connectivity — making it compatible with a wide range of PC hardware from that era, including systems without USB support. These printers were widely used for everyday document and photo printing in homes and small businesses. The parallel port interface makes the 656c particularly useful for connecting to older desktop systems, embedded controllers, or industrial PCs that still rely on the IEEE 1284 parallel standard. Replacement ink cartridges for this model were widely available, and the printer remains functional for anyone needing a straightforward, no-frills color inkjet with dual connectivity options.
