Applications

The HP DeskJet 9800 series targets users who need wide-format inkjet output from a desktop-class printer — typically graphic designers, photographers, architects, and small offices that print proofs, posters, presentation graphics, or large-format photos without the cost of a dedicated plotter. The 13×19-inch (Super-B) maximum print size allows full-bleed borderless output on A3+ media. With both USB and parallel connectivity, the 9800 is compatible with a wide range of Windows-based workstations and older systems still running parallel-port connections — a practical feature for legacy print workflows. HP released the DeskJet 9800 series in the early-to-mid 2000s; these printers are still sought after for occasional wide-format photo and graphic output where a large-format inkjet is needed at a modest cost.
