Applications

The HP DeskJet 694C was part of Hewlett-Packard's popular consumer DeskJet series, which dominated the home and small-office inkjet market throughout the 1990s. Introduced in the mid-to-late 1990s, the 694C was designed to work with Windows 95 and Windows 98 systems connected via a standard parallel (LPT) port — the dominant PC printer interface of that era before USB became widespread. It supports both color and black-and-white printing, making it suitable for everyday documents, graphics, and photo printing at typical home-use resolutions. Today, units like this are sought by hobbyists running vintage Windows 9x systems, retrocomputing enthusiasts, and collectors maintaining period-accurate PC setups. A parallel-to-USB adapter can allow use with more modern systems, though driver availability for current operating systems is limited; this printer is best suited to Windows 95/98/Me environments.
