Applications
The HP DeskJet 1600CM was HP's mid-to-upper-range inkjet printer aimed at workgroups and small offices during the mid-1990s. Its combination of color inkjet output with PostScript support made it suitable for design, pre-press proofing, and general office color printing in environments that required compatibility with PostScript-based workflows — common in advertising, publishing, and engineering departments of the era. The built-in HP JetDirect network card allows direct connection to Ethernet (BNC or 10Base-T) and Apple LocalTalk networks, enabling shared printing across mixed Mac and PC environments without a dedicated print server. This multi-protocol networking capability was a key selling point in offices running both Macintosh and Windows workstations alongside Novell NetWare networks. The C3543A expansion tray adds a second paper cassette, increasing paper capacity and allowing two different media types or paper sizes to be loaded simultaneously — useful in busy workgroup settings.
This HP DeskJet 1600CM Color Inkjet Printer (C3541A) has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. It was pulled from a working environment where it was previously in service. The unit includes the C3543A optional expansion paper tray and an HP JetDirect network card with BNC, 10Base-T Ethernet (RJ-45), LocalTalk, and parallel connectivity. The PostScript option is installed. The exterior shows normal wear consistent with office use. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
