Applications

The DeskJet 660C was HP's entry-level color inkjet printer of the mid-1990s, aimed at home and small-office users running Windows 3.1 or Windows 95 on DOS/Windows PCs equipped with a parallel port. The 600 series was among the first affordable color inkjet lines to achieve widespread adoption, and the 660C in particular was a popular choice for printing documents, graphics, and photos at a time when color printing at home was still relatively new. Today these printers are primarily of interest to collectors of vintage computing hardware, hobbyists maintaining period-correct computer setups from the Windows 95 era, or anyone needing a working parallel-port inkjet for a legacy system. Driver support exists for Windows 95, 98, and early Windows XP under the HP DeskJet 600 series driver package.
