Applications
HP LaserJet font cartridges were introduced in the mid-1980s alongside the original LaserJet series as a way to expand a printer's built-in typeface library without using host computer resources or print-time download time. The 92286B's TMS Proportional1 set — covering Helvetica-style (HELV) and Times Roman-style (TMS RMN) faces in multiple weights plus a Line Printer face — was aimed at business document printing: reports, correspondence, and spreadsheet output where proportionally spaced text gave a more polished appearance than the default Courier. Both USASCII and Roman 8 symbol sets are supported, covering standard English characters and the extended Western European character set used in many HP printer environments of the era. These cartridges remain in demand for maintaining legacy LaserJet printers still in service, as well as for collectors and organizations running period-accurate HP LaserJet equipment.
This HP 92286B TMS Proportional1 Font Cartridge has been inspected and is in good used condition. The cartridge body is clean with light shelf wear typical of stored surplus.
