Applications
The HP 9000 G40 is a RISC-based server from the 800 series that was used for enterprise computing and data processing under HP-UX. These systems were deployed in business, research, and technical environments requiring Unix-based processing. The included tape drive supported data backup and archival functions. Compatible with HP 9000 800 series infrastructure and legacy HP-UX software environments.

This Hewlett Packard 9000 G40 PA-RISC Server (A2435A) powers on but has not been fully tested and is being sold AS-IS with no warranty. It should be considered for parts or repair only. The unit is housed in a tower chassis and photographed in overall clean cosmetic condition with normal age-related yellowing typical of equipment from this era. The front panel LEDs are visible in photos, and the DCLZ tape drive and CD-ROM drive bays are present and intact. The rear expansion cards — including the SCSI/Printer/APMUX 16 card (A1703-60022) and the 10 Mbps card (28640-6001) — are installed and visible. No functionality beyond power-on has been verified.
