Description
HP Harrison 6102A DC Power Supply 0-40V 0-0.5A Variable Lab Hewlett-Packard
The Harrison 6102A is a vintage Hewlett-Packard benchtop variable DC power supply from HP's Harrison Labs division. It provides a continuously adjustable DC output over a wide voltage range with both coarse and fine voltage controls, and includes a built-in dual-scale analog meter for simultaneous monitoring of output voltage and current. This unit has been tested at our facility with a 19V DC / 0.12A motor load, and the on-board meter tracked accurately against an external multimeter — it is in good working order.

Applications
The HP Harrison 6102A is a benchtop linear DC power supply designed for laboratory, engineering, and electronics workbench use. HP's Harrison Labs division produced benchtop power supplies throughout the 1960s and into the 1970s — instruments from this era are known for robust analog construction and long service life. The 6102A is well suited for powering electronic circuits, sensors, small motors, and instrumentation in R&D, prototyping, and educational lab settings where a stable, adjustable low-current DC source is needed. The dual coarse/fine voltage control is particularly useful for applications that require precise voltage adjustment. The rear terminal strip allows for hardwired installations in addition to the front-panel binding posts, making this supply versatile for both bench and panel-mounted use. Units like the 6102A remain in active service in university labs, electronics repair shops, and vintage equipment restoration, where their simple, reliable analog design is an advantage.
This HP Harrison 6102A DC Power Supply has been tested at our facility using a 19V DC / 0.12A motor load, and the on-board analog meter tracked accurately against an external multimeter. The unit is in good working order. Cosmetically, the chassis shows some scuffs and scrapes typical of used bench equipment — please review our photos for detail.
