HP 5182-4544 Hot Swap SCSI SCA-2 Drive Tray Rev D NetServer D3604A/B
The HP 5182-4544 is a hot-swap SCSI SCA-2 drive tray designed for use in HP NetServer rack storage systems. It accepts SCSI SCA-2 compliant drives and allows drives to be inserted and removed from a compatible NetServer enclosure without powering down the system. This is the Rev D version, as indicated by the label on the underside of the tray.

Applications
HP NetServer hot-swap drive trays like the 5182-4544 were used in HP's rack-mounted NetServer storage enclosures from the mid-to-late 1990s, when hot-swap SCSI storage was standard in enterprise server environments. The SCA-2 (Single Connector Attachment) interface combines power and data into a single 80-pin connector, simplifying hot-swap drive installation and removal. These trays are still sought by administrators maintaining legacy HP NetServer systems, particularly the D3604A and D3604B Storage System /6 enclosures, where a spare tray is needed to replace a missing or damaged carrier. Only drives with SCA-2 connectors are compatible — standard 50- or 68-pin SCSI drives require an adapter and are not directly supported.
This HP 5182-4544 Hot Swap SCSI SCA-2 Drive Tray has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. It was pulled from a working server environment. The tray and ejector mechanism show normal wear consistent with prior service use. The Rev D label on the underside is clean and fully legible. Drive tray only — no hard drive is included.
