Applications

The HP LaserJet III was introduced in 1990 as the successor to the LaserJet II, and remained one of the most widely deployed office laser printers of the early 1990s. It printed at 8 pages per minute at 300 dpi using HP's Resolution Enhancement Technology (RET), and supported PostScript via an optional cartridge. The LaserJet III used the Canon CX print engine and was compatible with a wide range of PCL 5 applications. These printers are still found in service environments that rely on legacy parallel-port or serial connectivity, and are commonly sought by refurbishers, parts suppliers, and bulk resellers supplying overseas markets where older LaserJet hardware remains in active use. The toner cartridge (92291A) and many replacement parts remain available, making this an appealing lot for repair shops and parts businesses.
