Applications
The HP 3325A was designed for laboratory and automated test environments requiring precise, synthesized signal generation. It was commonly used in R&D labs, production test benches, and calibration facilities where stable, programmable frequency outputs and waveform generation are needed. The GPIB interface allows the 3325A to be controlled by a host computer in IEEE-488 automated test systems. Option 002 extends its use to phase and amplitude modulation applications, making it suitable for testing modulation sensitivity of receivers, lock-in amplifiers, and phase-sensitive detectors. This instrument was a standard bench tool in electronics and physics labs throughout the 1980s and 1990s and remains in demand for legacy test system maintenance and general lab use.
This HP 3325A Synthesizer/Function Generator with Option 002 has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. The front panel controls, keypad, and LED display are intact and show normal wear consistent with bench use. A calibration label is visible on the front panel dated October 1996. The rear panel BNC connectors and GPIB port appear undamaged. The unit shows typical cosmetic wear including some scuffing on the chassis. A SIMCO calibration seal is visible on the rear panel.
