The High Point Air Dryer/Loader is a floor-standing industrial desiccant wheel plastic pellet drying and conveying system. It combines hot-air drying with pneumatic pellet loading to remove moisture from hygroscopic plastic resins before injection molding or extrusion — a critical step for materials like polycarbonate, ABS, PET, and nylon where residual moisture causes defects in finished parts. This unit was in active service at a DVD disc manufacturing facility, where it dried polycarbonate pellets prior to injection molding of optical discs.

Polycarbonate, nylon, PET, ABS, and similar engineering-grade plastics absorb atmospheric moisture and must be dried to precise dew-point levels before processing — otherwise the moisture vaporizes during molding and causes splay, bubbles, or degraded material properties in the finished part. The desiccant wheel design continuously regenerates the drying medium, allowing sustained low-dew-point output without the downtime of batch desiccant systems. Combined dryer/loader units simultaneously dry and pneumatically convey pellets directly to the injection molding machine throat, eliminating manual handling. This unit served a high-volume optical disc (CD/DVD) manufacturing line, a process that requires exceptionally consistent polycarbonate melt quality. Condition: For Parts or Not Working
This High Point plastic pellet air dryer/loader has been visually inspected and appears to be in good cosmetic condition overall — the stainless steel hopper interior is clean and shows no visible damage, and the cabinet exterior is intact with normal scuffs and surface marks consistent with industrial use. It came out of a DVD disc manufacturing facility that closed, where it was used to dry polycarbonate pellets for injection molding. We are selling this unit as-is for parts or repair because we do not have the ability to power or test it. The four stainless steel cartridge filter housings are present on the front of the lower cabinet. The electrical cabinet shows a full contactor bank, relay modules, and control circuit boards that appear intact. The internal blower motors, transformer, and plumbing/pneumatic assemblies are visible and present. Some minor wear is visible at the hopper-to-cabinet seam (white material shows surface marks).
