Description
HI-MAXX RF-100 Satellite Receiver Ku/C Band IF Input VHF Out RCA AV
The HI-MAXX RF-100 is an analog satellite receiver designed for reception of C-band and Ku-band satellite signals. It accepts an IF input from a satellite dish LNB, processes the signal, and outputs composite video and stereo audio via RCA jacks, as well as an RF signal on VHF channel 3 or 4 for connection to a standard television. A front-panel channel display and up/down buttons allow direct channel selection, and the unit includes a polarizer control terminal block for use with motorized dish systems.

Applications
The HI-MAXX RF-100 is a mid-1990s analog satellite receiver from the era of large C-band dish systems and early Ku-band direct-to-home satellite services in North America. Receivers of this type were used with backyard C-band dishes (typically 6–10 feet in diameter) to receive unencrypted analog satellite feeds — including network feeds, international programming, and pay-per-view channels distributed over transponders before the widespread shift to digital compression formats like DVB-S. The switchable Ku/C band input made units like this flexible for both the large C-band dishes common in rural areas and smaller Ku-band dishes. The polarizer terminal block allowed connection to a mechanically-switched feedhorn, which was standard on C-band systems of the period. The VHF RF output let the receiver feed into a television's antenna input on CH3 or CH4, while the RCA composite and audio outputs supported direct connection to monitor displays and VCRs. This type of analog satellite hardware is primarily sought today by collectors of vintage AV equipment and technicians maintaining legacy satellite installations.
This HI-MAXX RF-100 Satellite Receiver has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. It was pulled from a working environment where it was previously in use. The unit shows normal cosmetic wear consistent with age and prior use. The STBY indicator LED is visible in the photos. No remote, cables, or manual are included.
