The Hayes 1004AM is an external desktop modem from the V-Series Smartmodem 9600 line, manufactured by Hayes Microcomputer Products, Inc. The Hayes Smartmodem line defined the standard for external asynchronous modems in the personal computing era of the 1980s and into the 1990s. This Hayes 1004AM V-Series Smartmodem 9600 has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. The unit shows light surface wear on the top housing consistent with normal bench or desk use.
