The Hammond Manufacturing 1418 T12 is a floor-standing Type 12 steel industrial control panel enclosure rated for use with industrial control equipment in ordinary locations. It is UL Listed (No. N275154) and CSA certified, built to C.S.A. Encl. 5 File LR2001. This unit was previously configured as a drive enclosure for a Volkmann 70545AA 40 KVA Adjustable Frequency AC Drive and retains its Allen-Bradley door-mounted disconnect operator handle and internal disconnect/fuse hardware.

Applications
Hammond Type 12 enclosures are NEMA/CSA-rated steel cabinets designed to house industrial control equipment — motor drives, PLCs, power distribution components, and custom control assemblies — in manufacturing and process environments where protection from dust, dripping water, and light oil splash is required. This size class (approximately 58 x 34 x 11 in interior) is well suited to housing variable frequency drives (VFDs), soft starters, or multi-component motor control centers in machine shops, pump stations, HVAC systems, and general industrial plant floors. The existing disconnect hardware and terminal infrastructure inside make this a practical starting point for a new control build or drive enclosure retrofit, potentially saving significant panel fabrication time versus a bare enclosure. Type 12 enclosures of this style have been a staple of North American industrial control design since the mid-20th century and remain in active use wherever NEMA 12 protection is specified.
This Hammond Manufacturing 1418 T12 Type 12 Industrial Control Panel Enclosure is in fair used condition. The exterior shows surface imperfections and rust, most notably rust spots around the door and discoloration on the painted steel — consistent with prior industrial service. The rear panel shows surface scuffs and scratches. The interior backplate is largely intact with the Allen-Bradley disconnect operator handle and internal disconnect hardware still in place. Note that the door has two holes drilled in the top and a 2x4-inch cutout in the door from its previous installation. Door dimensions are 58 x 34 x 1 in; interior dimensions are 58 x 34 x 11 in.
