The Haake F3 K is a combined circulating water bath and refrigerated chiller/heater system consisting of two integrated units: the Haake F3 temperature controller/bath head and the Haake K refrigerated compressor cabinet. This unit has been tested across that full temperature range and is in working condition. Common applications include viscometry (the Haake K series was widely paired with Haake viscometers and rheometers), sample incubation, reaction temperature control, and temperature conditioning of external process equipment via external fluid circulation loops. The F3 controller drives a pump that continuously circulates temperature-controlled water through both the internal bath and, when connected, an external circuit — making this system useful for jacketed vessels, column-temperature control in chromatography, and thermal cycling in analytical chemistry. The refrigerated K compressor cabinet allows the system to cool below ambient temperature, which distinguishes it from a simple heater-only bath. This configuration — the F3 head mounted on the K refrigerated cabinet — dates from Haake's Fisons-era instruments of the late 1980s to mid-1990s, when Haake was operated under the Fisons Scientific Equipment group before being acquired by Thermo Electron.
