The Gateway 2000 5500375 is an 8x CD-ROM drive built in a proprietary laptop bay module form factor for use in compatible Gateway 2000 notebook systems. It connects via a multi-pin proprietary edge connector visible on the rear of the unit and loads into a dedicated media bay slot rather than a standard 5.25" or slim-line drive bay. This Gateway 2000 5500375 8x CD-ROM Drive has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. The unit shows normal cosmetic wear for its age — the black plastic housing is intact with no cracks, and the label on the top is present and legible. The proprietary rear connector appears clean and undamaged. This drive was not bench-tested at our facility, but it came out of a working environment where it was previously in use.
