Applications

The Gamma Scientific DR-2 is a photomultiplier-based radiometer used for measuring low-level optical radiation — including irradiance, radiant flux, and luminance — in research, calibration, and optical testing environments. Instruments of this type were standard in optics laboratories, photometric standards labs, and semiconductor/display test setups from the 1970s through the 1990s, where accurate, repeatable light-level measurements were critical. The 2400-1H detector's PC-101 photomultiplier tube provides high sensitivity across a defined spectral range, making this system suitable for low-light flux measurements such as lamp calibration, filter characterization, and source intensity verification. The Model 2020-6 lens adapter allows attachment of standard optical accessories to the detector input aperture. Instruments of this series were produced by Gamma Scientific, a San Diego-based manufacturer specializing in photometric and radiometric measurement equipment that remains active in the field today.

Condition: Used
This Gamma Scientific DR-2 Digital Radiometer has been pulled from a working scientific environment and has not been powered up or tested at our facility. The unit comes with the Model 2400-1H photomultiplier detector (tube type PC-101) and the Model 2020-6 lens adapter. The main instrument housing shows normal wear consistent with lab use — scuffing on the top cover and light marks on the aluminum side panels. The front panel controls, knobs, and LED display appear intact. The rear BCD output connectors and power inlet are present and undamaged. The detector head shows typical handling marks.
