This is a dual-output (bifurcated) fiber optic light guide designed for use with fiber optic microscope illuminators and light sources. The assembly splits from a single input trunk into two flexible gooseneck arms, each terminating in a cylindrical metal tip connector that delivers illumination directly to the specimen stage or optical path of a stereo or inspection microscope. The main trunk uses a blue vinyl jacket; the two output arms are armored with a stainless steel gooseneck wrap for positioning and durability. The unit is being sold as-is due to tears in the outer shrouding that allow light to bleed through.

Applications
Fiber optic light guides like this are standard accessories for stereo microscopes, inspection microscopes, and other optical instruments that use a remote fiber optic illuminator. The bifurcated design allows a single light source to illuminate the specimen from two angles simultaneously, reducing shadows and providing even, controllable lighting across the field of view — a common setup in quality control inspection, electronics assembly, gemology, and biological or materials research. The gooseneck arms can be positioned independently to direct light precisely where needed. This type of light guide is compatible with a wide range of fiber optic illuminators that accept an 8 mm input ferrule, including units from Dolan-Jenner, Schott, Volpi, Edmund Optics, and many OEM microscope brands.
This fiber optic microscope dual split light guide is being sold as-is due to physical damage to the outer shrouding. The blue vinyl trunk jacket has visible tears, and some light bleeds through the damaged areas. When powered on it appeared to transmit light through both output arms, but because of the shroud damage it is offered for parts or as-is with no guarantee. The light source / power supply is not included — the cable was illuminated for demonstration purposes only. Photos clearly show the shroud tears near the splitter block as well as the condition of the tip connectors, including discoloration on the fiber face of the input tip.
