Applications
Exabyte 8mm tape cartridges were the standard backup media for Exabyte's line of 8mm helical-scan tape drives, which were widely used for data backup and archiving in Unix workstations, servers, and data centers throughout the late 1980s and 1990s. The EXB-8500 and related drives offered up to 5 GB of native capacity and were a popular choice for Sun, SGI, HP, and similar workstation environments. The Exatape 112m cartridge provides the full-length tape needed to reach maximum native capacity on 8mm drives. These cartridges remain sought after by organizations maintaining legacy Unix or midrange systems that still rely on 8mm tape drives for backup, archiving, or data migration.
These Exabyte Exatape 112m 8mm Data Cartridges are new and unused. The set of five cartridges is in open-box condition — the outer box has been opened but the cartridges themselves show no signs of use or wear, and all five are present. The original retail box is included. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
