Applications
The Epson Stylus Color 600 was introduced in the mid-to-late 1990s and was one of Epson's popular entry-level color inkjet printers of that era, competing directly with Canon and HP inkjets of the same generation. It used Epson's Stylus drop-on-demand piezoelectric inkjet technology and was marketed for home desktop printing of documents and photos. The printer connects via a parallel port, making it compatible with Windows 95/98/2000 and DOS-era PCs equipped with a standard LPT parallel interface. Today these printers are sought by collectors of vintage computing hardware, operators of legacy PC setups requiring a parallel-port-compatible printer, and users of older software environments that output to LPT devices. A USB-to-parallel adapter can extend compatibility to more modern systems, though driver support beyond Windows XP is limited.
This Epson Stylus Color 600 (P954A) inkjet printer has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. The case is white with normal yellowing and light surface marks typical of equipment from this era. The top cover opens freely and the interior print mechanism appears clean and intact, as shown in the photos. The parallel port and power connector on the rear are present and undamaged. The unit was pulled from a working environment where it was previously in use. It has not been powered up or tested at our facility.
