Description
Electro-Coatings Blue EPDM Silicone Nip Roller 41L x 10D 60 Durometer
This is a large-format industrial rubber nip roller manufactured by Electro-Coatings of California, Inc., a California-based specialty rubber roller manufacturer. The roller features a blue EPDM/silicone rubber covering at 60 Shore A durometer — a medium-firm hardness well suited to controlled-pressure web and sheet processing applications. It is mounted on stainless steel flanged end caps with a keyed steel drive shaft on one end and a hollow bore hub on the opposite end for shaft mounting.

Applications
Nip rollers like this one are standard components in web-processing and converting machinery, where two rollers are pressed together to apply controlled pressure across a moving web of material — paper, film, foil, fabric, or coated substrates. The paired rollers grip and advance the web, remove air pockets during lamination, or apply even pressure during coating and calendering operations. A 10-inch-diameter roller of this length is typical of wide-format laminating lines, solar panel lamination systems, printing press feed sections, and industrial coating lines. EPDM and silicone rubber covers are chosen for their chemical resistance, temperature tolerance, and consistent surface hardness over time — EPDM in particular handles water-based coatings and outdoor weathering well, while silicone provides stability across a broad temperature range. A 60 durometer hardness is in the mid-range: firm enough to provide uniform nip pressure without excessive deformation, while still conforming enough to protect delicate substrates. Electro-Coatings of California has produced custom and production rubber rollers for industrial customers across printing, packaging, solar, and film industries.
This Electro-Coatings of California blue EPDM/silicone nip roller has been inspected and is in good used condition overall. The blue rubber surface shows some cracking and chipping at the edge where the rubber meets the bottom stainless steel flange — visible in the close-up photos. The rest of the rubber surface appears intact with no major gouges or delamination. Both stainless steel end flanges are present and show normal machining marks and light surface wear. The keyed drive shaft at the top end and the hollow bore at the bottom end are intact. The roller was stored wrapped in its original Electro-Coatings of California branded protective paper. Please review all photos carefully for a full picture of the roller's condition, and contact us if you have any questions before purchasing.
