Description
Eaton Moeller ZM-40-PKZ2 PKZ2 Motor Protective Circuit Breaker 0.6-40A DIN Rail
The Eaton Moeller ZM-40-PKZ2 is a PKZ2-series motor protective circuit breaker (motor protection switch) with an adjustable current range of 0.6 to 40 amps. It combines thermal overload protection and magnetic short-circuit protection in a single DIN rail-mounted device, eliminating the need for a separate overload relay in many motor starter applications. The front panel features a rotary ON/OFF handle, a red magnetic trip indicator (I>), a yellow adjustable thermal dial, and a Test button for manual trip verification.

Applications
The Moeller PKZ2 series motor protective circuit breakers are a well-established product line used in industrial motor control centers, control panels, and machine tool enclosures. The ZM-40-PKZ2 is designed to protect three-phase motors up to approximately 15–18.5 kW (depending on voltage and application) from overload and short-circuit conditions. These devices are commonly used in manufacturing facilities, pump stations, conveyor systems, HVAC equipment, and other motor-driven industrial machinery where reliable motor protection is required. The PKZ2 series is also compatible with a range of Moeller/Eaton accessories including auxiliary contacts, shunt releases, and bus bars, making them a flexible building block in motor starter assemblies. ATEX certification makes this unit suitable for use in Zone 2 hazardous environments involving gas or vapor. The PKZ2 platform has been produced for decades and remains a current, widely-supported product line under the Eaton brand following their acquisition of Moeller.
This Eaton Moeller ZM-40-PKZ2 PKZ2 Motor Protective Circuit Breaker has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. It was pulled from a working environment where it was previously in service. The unit shows normal wear consistent with industrial use — the housing is intact, the rotary handle operates freely, and the terminal block shows typical connection marks. It has not been powered up or tested at our facility. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
