Description
Dwyer M39 Airflow Tester Gas-Particulate Filter Unit Magnehelic Gauge Army NSN
The Dwyer Instruments M39 is a portable airflow tester designed to measure and verify the rated airflow through gas-particulate filter units at collective protection stations. It combines a Magnehelic differential pressure gauge with a calibrated brass probe assembly, all housed in a rugged olive-drab military carry case with latch closures and a top handle. This unit ships complete with its original operator's manual and operating instructions placard.

Applications
The M39 was developed for U.S. Army direct support and depot maintenance personnel to verify that rated airflow is available at collective-protection stations equipped with gas-particulate filter units. The operating instructions card visible in the photos identifies its compatible filter systems as the M7A1, M8 series, M13 series, and M14 Gas-Particulate Filter Units — the filter types used to provide collective protection in military facilities during the Cold War era and beyond. Airflow testers of this type are also used by NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical) maintenance technicians and civil defense facilities with legacy collective protection infrastructure. The M39's self-contained carry case and simple Magnehelic gauge design make it a straightforward field-portable instrument requiring no external power source.
This Dwyer Instruments M39 Airflow Tester Gas-Particulate Filter Unit has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. It was pulled from a working environment where it was previously in use. The olive-drab carry case shows surface wear and scuffing consistent with field use; latches are intact. Internally, the Magnehelic pressure gauge and brass probe assembly appear complete and undamaged. The unit ships with its original operator's manual (TM 9-6680-376-10, dated 15 November 1983) and the operating instructions placard. It has not been powered up or tested at our facility.
