Applications
The HR10-250 was released in the mid-2000s as DirecTV's flagship HD DVR, combining DirecTV's dual-satellite HD tuner with TiVo's recording and interface platform. It was one of the first consumer HD DVRs capable of recording high-definition content from DirecTV's satellite service, and its HDMI output made it compatible with early HD televisions. The unit also included an over-the-air (OTA) antenna input for recording local HD broadcasts. DirecTV phased out support for the HR10-250 as they transitioned subscribers to MPEG-4-based receivers; this model used MPEG-2 encoding and is no longer activatable on the DirecTV service.
