Applications

The DirecTV D10 is a set-top receiver for the DirecTV direct broadcast satellite television service, which transmits digital programming from geostationary satellites to subscribers via a small dish antenna. Receivers like the D10 were standard equipment throughout the 2000s and into the 2010s for DirecTV standard-definition service, allowing customers to receive DirecTV's channel lineup on any television with composite or S-Video inputs. The D10 is a basic, non-DVR, non-HD model suitable for secondary TVs or for customers who need a simple, low-cost DirecTV-compatible box. An active DirecTV subscription and a compatible satellite dish are required for live service; the receiver and access card alone do not provide programming without a current account.
