The Delta LAN1 belongs to the NE2000-compatible ISA Ethernet card family, which was the dominant standard for PC networking through the late 1980s and into the mid-1990s. NE2000 compatibility was established by Novell and Eagle Technology and became so widely adopted that virtually every network operating system of the era — including Novell NetWare, Windows for Workgroups, Windows 95/98, MS-DOS with packet drivers, and early Linux — included built-in NE2000 driver support.
