Description
Dell AT101W PS/2 Mechanical Keyboard ALPS Black Switches 0006780D GYUM90SK
The Dell AT101W is a full-size 101-key PS/2 mechanical keyboard built with ALPS Black switches — a linear mechanical switch type prized by collectors and enthusiasts for its smooth, non-tactile keystroke with moderate actuation force. Produced in the early 1990s for Dell desktop systems, this keyboard connects via a purple PS/2 (Mini-DIN 6-pin) connector and draws just 5V at 75mA from the host system.

Applications
The AT101W was designed for Dell's PS/2-era desktop systems of the early-to-mid 1990s — including Optiplex, Dimension, and compatible tower and desktop PCs — at a time when the PS/2 keyboard port was the universal standard on IBM-compatible machines. The ALPS Black switch mechanism was used in a number of well-regarded keyboards of that era; it offers a smooth linear feel without the tactile bump of ALPS White or the click of ALPS Blue, making it a quieter option among ALPS-switch keyboards. Today, keyboards with genuine ALPS switches are actively sought by vintage computing enthusiasts, mechanical keyboard collectors, and anyone running legacy PS/2-era hardware who wants a period-correct input device. PS/2 keyboards also work on modern systems using a passive PS/2-to-USB adapter.
This Dell AT101W PS/2 Mechanical Keyboard has been inspected and carries a 'Test Passed' sticker on the bottom label. The keyboard is in good used condition consistent with its age — the case shows light yellowing typical of vintage equipment from this era, and all keycaps are present. One keycap (F1) has been removed in our photos to document the ALPS Black switch type; it is present and can be reinstalled. The PS/2 cable and purple mini-DIN connector are intact with no visible damage. Please review our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
