Description

Dell 01X475 Inspiron 5100 Laptop CPU Cooling Fan Heatsink Assembly Rev A00

The Dell 01X475 is the OEM CPU cooling fan and heatsink assembly for the Dell Inspiron 5100 laptop. This integrated thermal module combines a blower-style fan with a copper heat pipe and heatsink fin array to draw heat away from the processor and exhaust it through the laptop's vent. It mounts directly to the motherboard via four spring-loaded screws and connects to the board via a 4-pin fan header.

Applications

This cooling assembly is a direct replacement part for the Dell Inspiron 5100, a Pentium 4-M based 15-inch laptop released in 2002–2003. The Inspiron 5100 used a desktop-derived Pentium 4 processor running at relatively high thermal loads for a laptop of its era, making the CPU cooling assembly a common wear or failure item. This part is typically needed when the original fan bearings wear out causing noise or failure, or when the heatsink contact is compromised. It is also used for depot-level refurbishing of Inspiron 5100 units still in service for legacy applications. Fresh thermal compound should be applied to the CPU contact surface before reinstalling.

Condition: Used
This Dell 01X475 Inspiron 5100 CPU cooling fan and heatsink assembly has been inspected and appears to be in good used condition. The heatsink fins, copper heat pipes, and blower fan show normal wear consistent with prior laptop use. The thermal pad has some prior compound residue, which is typical for a removed heatsink — you may want to apply fresh thermal paste before reinstalling. The 4-pin fan connector and mounting hardware appear intact. Please view our photo set and contact us if you have any questions.
